Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) may help to reduce body fat without compromising muscle mass of the body. A Norwegian long-term study published in the renowned American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in June 2004 demonstrated a remarkable effect. 80 overweight healthy people between the ages of 18 and 65 daily were given CLA or a placebo (olive oil). A strong reduction of body fat was observed in the CLA-group after a 6 month period. In another study (from the “Müller diet” from Sven-David Müller) the participants completed a moderate fitness program 3x a week and were given CLA daily. Only 12 weeks later their body fat was reduced by 20%. The reduced fat did not pile up again.
